This little truck is an NXT'ified version of the official #8273 Off Road Truck. I have drawn this truck in 3d using MLCAD, so if you're interested in building this truck yourself, email me and I'll send you the CAD files.
Remote control
The truck is remotely controlled with a second NXT brick, which uses a mindsensors.com acceleration sensor to sense tilt. Communication between NXT on the robot
and the NXT remote is estabilished with Bluetooth. Both programs are written in RobotC. The robot steers left or right, with the acceleration sensor as input. The touch sensors control the driving direction (forward/ backward). The NXT arrow buttons are used to set the truck's speed, as shown in the video below.
